📚✨ September is Attendance Awareness Month! ✨📚
Every school day matters! When students attend school regularly, they have more opportunities to learn, build relationships, participate in activities, and reach their full potential.
This September, let’s work together to make every day count. Families, teachers, staff, and our entire community all play an important role in supporting good attendance.
🎯 Be Present. Be Powerful. Be Your Best!
Together, we can make attendance a priority and help every student stay on the path to success. 💙

Let's celebrate our hard work! Happy Labor Day! All GSCS schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th.
Griffin-Spalding County School System (GSCS) is so very thankful for all of our Partners in Education. So many businesses and organizations help provide opportunities and experiences for our students and teachers. Our district partners that each contribute in excess of $10,000 in value to help students are Brightmoor, Chick-fil-A, Dairy Queen, First National Bank, Georgia Banking Company, Marco's Pizza, Piedmont Fayette Hospital and United Bank. Thank you! Many others support the REACH and similar scholarships, individual schools, fine arts, athletics, and more. Some, like Norcom, provide school supplies. Some take part in the Partners in Education Fundraiser Golf Tournament (Sept 25 this year). Others serve as mentors and reading tutors for students. Community churches host events, volunteer at schools and pray for our students and staff. Thank you Griffin and Spalding for supporting our future through public education. We need you and we appreciate you!
Please use this calendar to navigate our busy month of September!
GSCS principals were celebrated today for their attendance efforts during the 2025-26 school year. Congratulations to Crescent Elementary for having the lowest absences in the district! Congratulations to Carver Road Middle for having the largest decrease in absences from the previous year! Congratulations to Beaverbrook, Futral Road, Jackson Road and Crescent Elementary for being below the state average in absences!
All GSCS school principals received certificates this morning from The Georgia Accrediting Commission, Inc. for meeting all necessary standards to be Accredited with Quality for the 2026-27 school year. Congratulations!
Mark your calendars! September is full of fun celebrations and events!
